Wrockin it Sandbox Style
As you’ve seen in previous posts, my friend Steven and I entered the Sandbox Competition. Well, we didn’t win. Hell, we didn’t even get a point! heh. But we had fun working together out side of work. This is the first time I’ve worked with a WordPress theme in over a year. I felt so rusty.
There were things Steven and I wanted to bring to the theme, I just simply did not know how to make it work. I’ll definitely be downloading a few of the themes to learn from. I plan on combining a few to use on this site.
Here are a few of the designs I loved:
Moo-Point – I love the way Will presented his post meta. It reminds me of what I love about my current theme Hemingway.
Ponjong - This is just a very clean theme. I like clean and organized. I’m very surprised this theme wasn’t in the top 3-5.
Prima - Very classy looking.
Sakeena – I love the sidebar photo.
SandPress- No question why this design won the competition. Every single element of this theme is designed. Great work, awesome detail, clean, simply yet trendy.
Shades of Gray – I love how Leslie used two “sidebars” placing the second at the bottom of the page. This will definitely be worked into this site.
There there is our design, Wrock it.
Now, our design should have at least got a point for cuteness! By no way did we have the best CSS or the best design, but you must admit, it’s cute as hell

Okay – I went and checked out all of those designs and I don’t know why your design wasn’t right up there with Sandpress. They were both by far superior designs. But I am partial to designs with a little more color to them.

I am glad you liked it. You love dark designs don’t you I can see it in wrock-it and your current design. I personally thought BlueBerry was a great design.

Thanks for your compliment on Moo-Point. I worked really had on the way things were laid out. Big inspirations were Hemingway and DePo Clean.

I looked at all the designs on that site and I only liked two:
The Blue Butterfly Layout and Wrock It. So they can SUCK IT.

Guys, wrock it is so brilliant it’s sick! I am setting up a blog from a friend, and it is just so perfect. as soon as I get it all set up, and get him off his a** to start posting content, I will let you know.
Great work on the theme, and in all seriousness, I think it was the best in the group, hands down. Maybe if it had been names AAA wrock it, and been at the top of the list instead of the last.
Keep up the brilliant work though…it is people like you that that allow people like me to have sights that look great!

I really liked this theme alot. I wanted to use it for a new celebrity blog that I’m making, but I can’t seem to get it to work. I’ve followed all of the directions, but no go.
I’d love to get this up and running already…any thoughts?
